New York Fashion Week 2016 has wrapped and once again hair came in an array of styles. From middle parted sleek straight hair at Donna Karen DKNY to the controversial pastel faux dreads at Marc Jacobs. Ponytails were extremely popular and came styled in twists at Marissa Webb show to floor sweeping at the Ottolinger show. Bible Mohapatra, Brandon Maxwell, Carolina Herrera, and Lela Rose shows featured black models wearing their natural hair. Cheers to them showing diversity and we hope to see more incorporated in the future. Which brings us to the most controversial hairstyle of the week Marc Jacobs. Marc Jacobs models wore pastel colored handmade dreadlocks. Many people were offended because they felt the hairstyle was "cultural appropriation" and it caused a twitter firestorm. Then Marc Jacobs posted his defense on Instagram and caused even more of a firestorm. Regardless of what side of the argument your own can't deny New York Fashion Week 2016 had us all watching.
